Chinsniffer / Ona Snop split 7inch

Nice little mind bending release from Chinsniffer and Ona Snop here. Ona Snop deliver tight slabs of that Leeds scene Grindcore that everyone knows and loves. Obtuse riffs delivered at blitzkrieg speed with a bit of a swagger. This release is the precursor to their album Geezer which followed not long after. Well worth spending an afternoon listening to both these releases on repeat.
The Chinsniffer side is a unique beast altogether. Wouldn't want to stick any hard and fast labels on it. Noisecore, Soundscapes, NoiseRock, Grind. Something like that. My only complaint here is it could be 4 times the length. By the time your lost in the noise and catapulted into a nicer astral realm the needle is lifting itself off.
Both Ona Snop and Chinsniffer need to be seen live to really get the full experience, but I suspect both sides of this 7inch were recorded in close enough to live conditions. It represents the live shows probably as close as you can, but to get the full effect you might need to cram as many cider punx into your living room and play shinkicker while your stereo breaks itself.

This release also introduced me to the art of T Bare Mclough. Here's a guy who needs far more attention than they're getting. What they've painted here pretty much represents what its like to listen to this record while getting sucked through a black hole. I suspect. I mean, I've only done that once and my memory of the event is hazy at best.
